Before Use

Fragyl should not been taken by the patients allergic to any of the ingredients of the medication, otherwise, it may cause serious side effects. Fragyl may influence an unborn baby, especially in the first trimester of pregnancy, thus, a patient should tell a doctor in case of being pregnant or planning to get pregnant while following the course of treatment. The medication can pass into breast milk and do harm to a nursing baby.

A patient should avoid drinking alcohol during the course of treatment and at least three days after having followed the course, otherwise, it may cause the following side effects to occur:

  • fast heartbeats
  • warmth under the skin
  • redness of the skin
  • tingly feeling
  • nausea
  • vomiting.

A patient suffering from the following diseases may have to undergo some special tests for dose adjustment:

  • liver diseases
  • stomach or intestinal diseases (e.g. Crohn’s disease)
  • a blood cell disorder(e.g. anemia, the lack of red blood cells; leucopenia, the lack of white blood cells)
  • epilepsy
  • seizures
  • nerve disorders.

A patient should tell about any conditions experienced before starting the course of Fragyl.
